Working with Greece
Our relationship with Greece matters. Our Embassy provides a platform to support the UK Government in tackling some of the key issues affecting Britain and the world today.
From tackling international terrorism, preventing and resolving conflict and fighting the threat of international drugs and crime, to climate change and developing effective international institutions. These are all areas for discussion between ourselves and the Greek government, institutions and other key opinion-formers.
Policy Delivery Team
The Policy Delivery Team is responsible for promoting political and economic relations between Britain and Greece, both bilateral and international. We work closely with the Greek government to promote shared goals and discuss issues of concern.
The focus of our work is the FCO's strategic framework, specifically the four strategic policy goals. We have regular contact between British and Greek politicians and officials as well as with academics, media, and others involved in the development of Greek policies and public opinion. We represent British views on bilateral and foreign policy issues to Greek decision-makers, and keep ministries in London informed of Greece's thinking on key issues and political developments in Greece.
The team also includes Press & Public Affairs, which promotes Britain and British government policies to the Greek and UK media and to the general public. We provide assistance and briefing to both Greek and international media based in Greece and arrange press conferences and background briefings for key events. Our work is supported by a range of press and information services from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London including the latest FCO and Embassy press releases and Ministerial speeches. We also provide information to the general public through our website and telephone enquiry service.
