Disabled access
We are keen to ensure that our buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public.
General physical access
- Entrance - the main reception area and Consular/Visa Section are clear and unobstructed, although some corridors may require some manoeuvring. A member of staff is available to assist.
- A lift provides access to the upper floors of the Embassy building. Lift entrance width provides standard accessibility for wheelchair users.
- Toilets - wheelchair access facilities are available on the Ground floor.
- Floor coverings are safe and even.
- Handrails are not currently provided in the main part of the Embassy.
- Doors, except on the main entrances and fire doors are easily accessible to all users.
- Lighting throughout the Embassy is of a high standard.
- During an emergency or an evacuation of the building help will be provided by a member of staff.
- Intercoms are located at the entrance and are reasonably accessible to wheelchair users.
- There is no parking facility at the Embassy.
Access for visually-impaired visitors
Internationally recognised fire and exit signs are located throughout the building. There are currently none in Braille. Guide dogs are most welcome, but some notice of a visit would be appreciated.
Access for deaf and hard of hearing visitors
Hearing dogs are most welcome but some notice of the visit would be appreciated.
Minicom and textphones are not currently available.
We regret that there are currently no members of staff with a knowledge of sign language.
