The British Embassy in Athens furthers the interests of the UK in Greece through cooperation which is of benefit to both countries.

The Policy Delivery Team  promotes bilateral political relations between the UK and Greece, and works closely with the Greek Government to address international issues of concern.  Part of the Team is the Press & Public Affairs section which provides information about Britain and British Government policies to the media and to the general public.

The Trade Development Section  supports British exports to and investment in Greece, providing a wide range of services to both British and Greek businesses.

The Consular Section provides consular services and help to British Citizens visiting or living in Greece.

The Passports Section issues and renews British passports, and registers births and deaths of British subjects in Greece.

The Visas Section processes a large number of visa applications per year for travel to the United Kingdom, as well as some Commonwealth countries and UK Overseas Territories.

The Defence Section promotes and facilitates defence cooperation between Britain and Greece, and fellow Nato and EU partners, focusing on a range of issues including peacekeeping operations, training, manning and equipment.
