Holidaying? Keep the party going – but also keep an eye out!

An enjoyable and carefree stay in this beautiful country of the Mediterranean is every visitor’s dream once they book their summer holiday. Although the greatest part of the approximately three million British tourists that visit Greece every year have their dream come true, for some things go wrong and they are faced with difficult situations and problems during their holiday.

Another Side to Paradise” is the title that the British Embassy has given to a series of safety messages that are addressed to holiday-makers in Greece.

Know your personal limits, don’t drink and drive, respect local customs and keep an eye out for your friends – and your stuff are the most important things one has to remember – so that you don’t experience the darker side of this paradise for holidaymakers.

Our extensive consular network is committed to providing assistance to British nationals who find themselves in trouble.  In addition throughout the year  the British Embassy is also working closely with local partners in order to put into practice actions and synergies that raise awareness as to the more common types of problems that one may come up against while holidaying in this country.

Do have a look at this campaign’s material. This is just to remind travellers to behave responsibly - while still having a ball.
