Unipart Expert Practices (UEP) presented their knowhow to a select audience at an event on 9 June, hosted by the British Ambassador at his Residence in Athens. Unipart Expert Practices (UEP) is the global consultancy arm of The Unipart Group, the logistics provider that grew out of the former UK car manufacturer, British Leyland.
The Unipart Group is an employee owned business, with turnover of over £1.1bn, 12,000 employees and operations across many different sectors including healthcare. UEP proposes and implements a philosophy of working that stresses employee engagement and continuous improvement. Focusing on improving efficiency, reducing waste, fostering innovation, they establish long term behavioural change inside an organisation. UEP works closely with employees step-by-step to drive through reform. The company is heavily involved in restructuring projects across the public sector in the UK and abroad.
Apart from healthcare, UEP has also delivered exceptional results in other parts of the public sector. As one example, in 2005, working with HM Revenue and Customs, UEP has developed a programme which has generated a return of over £900m savings for the Department. For more information on UEP, please see the snapshot.
The event was attended by Mr Polyzos, Secretary General for Health, Mr Plaskovitis, Secretary General of Finance, Mr Yiannopoulos, ND Shadow-Minister for Health and former Deputy Minister for Health, representatives of Regional Health Authorities, Managers of state and private hospitals, diagnostic centres, state funds, insurance companies, ambulance services, the National Organisation for Medicines, the National Bank of Greece and journalists.
