Launch of a GREAT 2012  -  British Embassy and British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce

More than 350 guests, business people, politicians, academics and media joined British Ambassador Dr David Landsman, along with Ms Eugenia Chandris and Mr  Harris Economopoulos, co-Presidents of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (BHCC) to welcome in the New Year at the British Ambassador’s Residence on Wednesday 18 January.

At the reception the British Ambassador launched the UK’s new GREAT campaign to incentivise people to do business with, invest in, and visit the UK. The campaign will be prominent during UK celebrations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games London 2012 and Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee. Guests also watched the new ‘Gamechanger’ film which gives a taste of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympic events will start here in Greece with the Torch Lighting at Ancient Olympia and the Olympic Flame Handover to the UK at Kallimarmaron Stadium in May 2012.

In his address the Ambassador emphasised the close business links between Britain and Greece and underlined the importance that the British Government is placing on business, investment and growth not just on national level but on an EU level as well.
